Emma Hutchinson's debut CD "Hummingbirds" - available via this website The new album, which had its official release early in February 2004 on Emma 's own Flying Jewel Records, features 11 self-penned tracks. A unique blend of wistful ballads, fresh funk and deliciously jazzy soul, the songs were co-arranged with gary bamford and recorded at Jim Barr's (Portishead) J&J Studios in Bristol."

"Many songs on this album were written in Hollywood in 1996. It was 95 degrees and I was learning to play jazz chords and dripping sweat on Mickey Baker's jazz guitar book.
Others I wrote in my garden in Bristol based on poetry I'd written which suggested a melody to me.
I'm very fortunate in having an incredible band who interpret my songs beautifully. We only did 2 or 3 takes of each song live in the studio."
